Character Creation

Setting: Modern Nights Bremerton Washington State (Puget Sound).
Character creation: Camarilla clans and Caitiff available (first come first serve for clans and concepts).
Creepy Clans or Concepts: Heavily restricted but possible (Tremere included in Creepy designation).
Age Cap: No character may be more then two decades under the night. No exceptions sorry.
You are encrouraged to submit a character sheet AND concept with background ahead of opening night for the best available 'freebies'. Backgrounds are not required, however a concept is.
First night of 'The Bremerton Experiment' is schedueled for Friday January 9th 2009. Carlsbad City Hall.

Rules:

Anything deemed "restricted" is only available with written background and ST approval.
Written Backgrounds: 1 full page minimum of relevant and concise data. Written backgrounds are worth 10xp.
Answering all questions on the questionnaire is worth 5 xp.

Standard 3rd Edition Revised Camarilla character creation.
Clans available: Brujah, Malkavian, Nosferatu, Toreador, Ventrue, Gangrel.
Clans available but restricted: Caitiff, Tremere.
Starting generation: 13th.
Available generations: 14th, 13th, 12th, 11th.
Available but restricted generations: 10th.

Merits and Flaws: 3 point maximum in each category without background.
Combo disciplines are not allowed at character creation, neither is the 4th in clan merit.
Influences do not nessescarily matter when going to a new city, no influences without storyteller approval. Backgrounds like Mentor and Contacts are available but restricted.

Arsenal Background is capped at 2 and is only available with ST approval. Restricted.
Status Background is capped at 2 and is only available with ST approval. Restricted.
Military force is not available at character creation.
Magical devices or magical abilities/disciplines/rituals are heavily restricted.

Saucin rule is in effect. If you play two overly similar characters back to back on paper or in role play (ST discretion) then you will be warned. Change it or it will be retired. Two violations of the Saucin rule will result in unplanned and swift character (perhaps player) removal.

For sake of story, no players may enter play together as part of a Player Character coterie without prior approval by ST. Restricted.
No non-vampire characters. No Ghoul PC's, NPC ghouls must be built with your XP and are restricted. No PC may be more then 10 years under the night. Players can be as much as 20 years active as a vampire with ST approval which is restricted.

Basic Rules:

Before creating a new character, or if this is your first character, get the Storyteller's approval for your concept before you go any farther.

After the Storyteller has given you approval, you can use these rules a guideline when building your new character, but you will need a copy of Laws of the Night as well. These are simply a reminder of how many points you get and where you can use them.

Morality Traits:
7 points to spend in Conscience, Self-Control, and, Courage. Each additional traits costs 2 freebee points. Your Humanity is the sum of your Conscience and Self-Control, rounded up. Each additional trait costs 3 freebee points.

Attributes:
15 points to spend in the Physical, Social, and Mental categories. 7 points in your primary category, 5 points in your secondary category, and 3 points in your tertiary category. See Laws of the Night for the actual traits you can choose from. Each additional trait costs 1 freebee point.

Abilities:
5 points to spend, see Laws of the Night for the abilities you can choose from. Each additional trait costs 1 freebee point.

Disciplines:
3 points to spend, see Laws of the Night for which disciplines you can choose from, and their specific powers. Each additional basic level power costs 3 freebee points for in-clan and 4 freebee points for out-of-clan,, each additional intermediate discipline costs 6 freebee points for in-clan and 7 freebee points for out-of -clan, each additional advanced discipline costs 9 freebee points for in-clan and 10 freebee points for out-of-clan. Keep in mind, in order to learn a new discipline power, you must first master the one before it, and no starting characters can have a discipline above level three unless the Storyteller gives it to you.

Backgrounds:
5 points to spend, see Laws of the Night for the abilities you can choose from. Each additional trait costs 1 freebee point.

Everything else:
Willpower is dictated by your generation, see Laws of the Night for more information. Each additional trait costs 3 freebee points.
Blood Pool is dictated by your generation, and cannot be adjusted with freebee points.
Merits, Flaws, and Derangements can be found in Laws of the Night, and must be approved by the Storyteller.

Freebee Points:
You get 5 freebee points to spend on anything you want, costs are listed above. Also, if your previous character had unspent experience points (XP), divide that number in half and round down and add that number to your freebee points to spend. For example if your previous character had 9 XP left over, you would get 4 additional freebee points to spend during character creation.
